Helping with Hunger

This pandemic has affected people in so many different ways. Everyone has faced different struggles and situations. In these uncertain times, the rise in community service gives everyone hope in humanity.
The Lennox United Methodist Church has gathered volunteers to feed their elderly community. “Respect for our food is a respect for life, for who we are, and what we do,” said Ana Manu. Not only do the volunteers feel good from helping out, so do those who receive. “When you go through a food drive you receive your food with no cost, you feel blessed,” said Mele Blagojevich.
The people who came to the drive have been grateful for the volunteers who are helping them through these difficult times. “After losing my job during the pandemic I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to provide a meal for my family. The food drive helped me get out of this situation and I’m thankful for the people who have helped me here today,” said Maliyah Gaither.
The volunteers and church know helping their community and will continue to do so. “Together we can solve hunger," said William Mailei.
